It’s great to push yourself out of your comfort zone when learning Spanish. I used to always say everything in the present tense when speaking Spanish – how ridiculous is that!? The faster you accept that you’ll have to use the other tenses, the better off you’ll be. I thought to myself, “ Gzz, I am now starting to get the hang of the present tense, not I gotta memorise this sh*t? ” So yep, I avoided learning it. I will be honest with you, the first year or so, I pretended that the other tenses didn’t exists! This song also made me realize that I needed to have a basic understanding of some tenses if I really wanted to have a meaningful conversation in Spanish. So you see how I learned a few things with the song’s title alone? Next time you see your Spanish speaking friend, tell him/her, “¡ Vuela! ”, they may start flapping their arms :). #MONCHY Y ALEXANDRA LYRICS HOW TO#In Spanish you would say, “¡Habla! I didn’t know how to use commands in Spanish at the time, and this song helped me understand it a little. You use that form when you wanna give someone a command, like if you are asking someone a question, and they are looking at you dumb without saying anything, you say, “ Speak!”. It’s the tú form of the Imperative mood.įor an example, “ Hablar ” is “ To talk/speak ” right? So, “ Habla ” would be the imperative. This is how I always looked at things when learning Spanish…īy the way, the word, “ Vuela ” comes from the verb, “ Volar ”(to fly). That alone made me feel like, “ Hey, I don’t understand anything, but atleast I know how to say, ‘vuela vuela’ now, and I am now familiar with a classic Spanish music group– so I win”. I knew the chorus very well, it was easy, “ Vuela vuela ” (fly fly). I felt it was way too advanced for me, but I kept listening and reading the lyrics. When I came across it, of course I felt it was not “ Not in my league ”. The singing in unison, the chance of pace, the chorus, the beat etc sounded great. I want to introduce it to you.īack then, even when I didn’t understand anything in the song, I continued to listen because I thought it was extremely catchy. This is one of the first REAL songs I had used in my early Spanish learning days, so it’s dear to my heart.
